Tickets

Berlin has defined 3 fare zones (A, B, and C), with A and B covering the inner city up to the city boundaries. Zone C is the area approx. 15 km around the city, including Potsdam. Tickets are sold for either zones AB, BC or ABC. For your visit to the Humboldt University and the Social Science Research Center WZB, you will only need a ticket for zones AB. Those traveling from Schönefeld Airport will need a ticket for zones ABC.

You can buy tickets at ticket machines in all train, underground and urban rail stations (DB, S- and U-Bahn), at ticket counters in railway stations (e.g. Hauptbahnhof, Friedrichstr., Alexanderplatz, Zoologischer Garten), from ticket machines in trams or from bus drivers.
